Belfast

A nice visit

Peace Wall

A leisurely morning since our black cab taxi ride is at 9:00. Stopped at Caffè Nero and Gwyn got a latte. We walked over to the taxi stand and was greeted by Mark. He took us on our tour. Both interesting and frustrating that there are 60 walls total around Belfast separating the British and Irish. The divisions are political not religious even though Catholics and Protestants don't live together.

After the tour we stopped at the Belfast City Hall and looked at the exhibit in the many rooms there. They had a VR exhibit in a couple of rooms which was OK. For lunch we walked to Robinson's Bar which we passed by yesterday. The steak and ale pie was really good. Stopped in the Starbucks to get some more treats for Gwyn. We went back to the hotel to get my sunglasses and return the umbrella.

Dolly Lion

Took a walk through the Cathedral Quarter and saw the Albert Memorial Clock tower. Continued to one of the Glass of Thrones. We sat for a bit for a rest, then headed to CS Lewis Square. We found four of the statues in the park. It follows a river. There was a Caffè Nero so we stopped and had waters. There was a map of all of the statues so we went and found the others. Took the Glider back into town. Looked for the Carroll's gifts, and on the way saw a cute car named Dolly. Gwyn found the t-shirt for Flash. Headed back to the hotel and looked in a couple of places for supper, but ended up at the Pret for supper and breakfast tomorrow since we are leaving early. Watched some iPlayer, showered, then bed.
